On Sunday, June 10th, Faith Presbyterian launched a new initiative called Isaiah 58. “If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday,” (v.10). The purpose of the initiative is to facilitate and encourage the connection of our church members to local opportunities to serve widows, orphans, immigrants, refugees, and the poor in like-minded ministries.
Instead of having a ministry fair of tables as we did in June, next Sunday we will convene in the Sanctuary during the Sunday School hour. We will meet Pastor Dan Samuelson and hear about his heart for refugees; the local ministry he built called Welcome Home (www.welcomehome.buzz); and our collaboration potential with him, his church, his ministry and now, Better English on 38th, hosted at his church.
