Looking for ways to get involved and serve your church family? Below you will find a list of easy ways to serve!

Ministry coordinators would love additional hands to make the work light,

and they are generally able to schedule you on dates and at frequencies that work for you.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the church office and we would be happy to answer any questions!

Better English in Tacoma

Diverse urban centers like Tacoma have a great need for ESL services and Faith Presbyterian is partnering with Sunset Bible Church to meet some of those needs with Better English in Tacoma. Our particular strength is a very high volunteer-to-student ratio, often nearly 1:1, so the fun of learning is enhanced by friendship and personal attention to individual needs. If you would like additional information about volunteering as a partner, please check out our website  or contact Jonathan Nichols

Building Monitor

We are in need of additional men to serve as building monitors, walking around both the inside and outside the church building on Sundays during the 11:00 am and 6:00 pm worship services. Volunteers generally serve once per calendar quarter. If you are willing to be added the schedule or would like more information, please contact the church office. Thank you!

Coffee Crew

We need more coffee volunteers for church! If everyone who drinks coffee signed up for one service on one Sunday, we would be covered. Thank you in advance! This seemingly small act of hospitality means so much to the fellowship of our church members, young and old. Click below to view the sign-up page, which also has more information on the simple process. You can also contact coffee crew coordinator Beth James.

Greeter Ministry

We need warm and informed volunteers willing to rotate serving at a designated welcome area during both morning services. If we have enough volunteers, you would likely only need to serve 2-3 times a month!

We also are looking for families that are willing to host newcomers for lunch after the Sunday services.

Please join us in our mission to make sure that no one comes through our doors and feels unseen. Coming to our church as a visitor should be a warm, welcoming, and seamless experience. If any of this interests you, please text or email Evan Kvale.

Meals on Wheels

The purpose of Meals on Wheels is to provide meals for those families needing extra help due to illness, death in the family, adoption or childbirth. If you know of a need, please contact Kathy Haass, Alisha Bennett or the church office. Meal needs will be requested via TNT (This ‘n’ That), the church’s e-mail announcement system. To receive TNT e-mails, please contact the church office. Thank you!

Nursery Attendant Paid Position Available

The church is looking to hire a nursery attendant to minister to our covenant children during the 8:15am service. Applicants should be at least 18 years old, have experience with childcare, be able to follow safety and security policies and procedures, and should be regularly attending the alternate morning service. (We do not wish for this position to hinder someone from regular Sunday morning worship!). Please contact the church office if you are interested in applying.

PB&J Ministry

We are making sandwiches here at Faith each week on Thursday mornings at 9:30‐11:45 in DeSoto Hall. Please come and join us if you are able! For more information, please contact Cheryl Anderson.

Rescue Mission Meals

One Saturday each month, FPC services a meal at the Tacoma Rescue Mission. In addition to serving at the shelter, folks from the congregation provide desserts, which can be left in the church office or the kitchen. For more information, or to participate, please contact Sandy Milton

Sunday School

Though we have need for teachers, there are also many other ways you can serve the covenant children of the congregation through the Sunday School program, such as preparing snacks, being a second person in the classroom, or even acting as a hall monitor! To get involved in our Sunday School program, please contact the church office, or you can reach out directly to Sunday School Superintendent, Hilary Kvale.

Trail Life

  • The search for a new Troopmaster is over, as Kirk McMillan has stepped into that role. This is a huge answer to prayer for the Troop!
  • The Troop continues to look for special activity instructors to guest teach at weekly meetings and weekend events. Subjects can vary widely: camping and backcountry skills, sports, craft making, tool usage, shooting, etc.
  • Do you have outdoor gear in good repair that you no longer use? Trail Life is taking donations of outdoor gear. Backpacks, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cookware all welcomed.
  • We will be continuing our weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 6:45 PM, at Prince of Peace Lutheran 10333 Bridgeport Way SW, Tacoma, WA 98499. These meetings will continue through the school year. We likely will not have weekly meetings in July/August, but will continue to have special events for the boys over the summer.
  • Contact Jeff Bone or Nate Carlson to volunteer or donate.
